A plant-based lifestyle is choosing to take action in your own life by assessing illnesses in your family and using food to heal and prevent diseases to live a longer, healthier life. Doctors and hospitals are there to treat acute illnesses. They are not trained in nutrition (about twelve hours only) and they will happily diagnose you and give you a prescription.
Use food as your medicine and use the powers within them to heal. The leading cause of death in the US is cardiovascular disease, which is preventable. Keep yourself at a healthy weight, eat fruits/veggies and whole grains, limit bad fats, cholesterol, sugars, salt, and alcohol. The life expectancy for humans is higher than it has ever been, but the quality of the later years is extremely poor.
